You are issued a card when you're born with your city id and whether you're dark or light. It has been this way ever since the two leaders of the city, Hyun lee and Myeong Kim, divorced and separated their city in two. Hyun Lee took MorrowHallow side and Myeong Kim too RiverHaven side. MorrowHallow was colder, harsher, poorer while RiverHaven was warmer, and happier, usually the middle and upperclass lived here. The rule was set in place that people from both sides were never to meet, if you lived in MorrowHallow you were dark and never to cross over to RiverHaven as they were light.
